POTS/ISDN Modules The VBX-Series PBX appliances are delivered default with a number of ISDN BRI ports depending on the model. Every VBX-Series model can be upgraded standard with BRI, PRI, FXS and/or FXO modules up to a maximum of 200 BRI, 30 PRI, 800 FXS and 800 FXO ports, or any combination of these. The modules are fitted optional into separate 1U industry rack mount units, for easy mounting and patching. 
BRI Modules BRI (Basic Rate Interface) ISDN is a digital telephony interface used to connect to the telephony provider or ISDN telephone sets. There are two basic configurations for each BRI port - TE (Terminal) - connects to telephony provider and NT (Network) - connects to ISDN phones (requires power supply option) or legacy PBX (as PSTN ISDN trunks). PRI Modules PRI module supports T1 and E1 protocols and has three models: with 1 port, 2 ports and 4 ports. Features: 1, 2 or 4 PRI ISDN-30 ports per unit/module E1 and T1 support Separate NT/TE connectors, no DIP switches or special cables LED status indication for each port including NT/TE status and layer 1 and 2 synchronization Available in combined units with Analog (FXS/FXO) ports 
Analog Modules FXS FXS interface is used to connect analog telephones (and in some cases legacy PBX). Each module has 8 FXS ports, which means it can drive up to 8 different analog extensions. A full-size (1U) unit can contain up to 4 FXS modules, reaching up to 32 analog extensions. Many units may be used on the same VBX-Series PBX appliance to easily create a system with hundreds of analog extensions. Analog Modules FXO FXO is used for connecting analog lines (and in some cases legacy PBX). Each FXO module has 8 FXO ports for 8 analog telephone lines. A full size (1U) unit is can contain up to 4 FXO modules supporting up to 32 analog lines. FXO also supports special analog fax lines, however, when using FXO and ISDN (BRI or PRI digital telephony) on the same system, fax lines has to be connected to ISDN.
